Ben Bugbee is a business owner, community leader, and advocate with a proven track record of creating jobs, managing complex operations, and delivering results. As a multi-business owner and property manager, he understands the challenges facing Minnesota families and businesses firsthand.
Ben has testified before the Minnesota Legislature, serves on a university board of trustees, and leads statewide advocacy efforts—all while building successful enterprises that strengthen District 13A's economy. He combines entrepreneurial drive with deep community roots, representing four generations of commitment to rural Minnesota.
Business Experience
Partner and Head of Guest Services at Bug-Bee Hive Resort (2018-Present): Partner in family hospitality business continuously operating since 1920 on Lake Koronis in Paynesville, Minnesota. Leads and manages year-round guest services, providing exceptional hospitality for resort guests. Develops and implements long-term operational strategies to enhance guest experiences and streamline operations for peak efficiency.
Owner of Water Ready Rentals (2018-Present): Established and expanded a successful watercraft rental business, managing a fleet of pontoons, jet skis, and e-bikes. Developed the Koronis Boat Club, an innovative membership model offering hassle-free boating experiences with flexible reservations.
Owner and Operator of Ben Bugbee Properties LLC (2023-Present): Development of a 75-site seasonal RV campground for long-term leasing. Property operations, infrastructure development, permitting, and lease agreements.
Property Manager at John Clark Senior Apartments (2021-Present): Manages all operations for a 24-unit residential apartment complex serving senior residents. Handles leasing, tenant relations, and contract negotiations.
